According to reports, Todd Boehly plans to sell five Chelsea players this summer in order to raise £200 million.
The homegrown players’ Mason Mount, Levi Colwill, Conor Gallagher, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Callum Hudson-Odoi may be sold to earn money for any expenses, according to The Evening Standard.
The Blues are in a situation where, in order to strengthen once more, they will need to let go of a few of their players this summer.
Those who have graduated from the club’s lauded academy have already been singled out as having the potential to make the most money at this point.
As long as there is still disagreement about what each party wants from his future deal, Mount has been notably connected with leaving the club.
This summer may mark the end of the Englishman’s career because Boehly apparently doesn’t want players to sign contracts that extend through their last years.
Boehly seeking £200 million
The winter saw a lot of interest in Gallagher, and potential transfer fees of almost £45 million were mentioned.
Colwill, who has had a wonderful loan season with overachieving Brighton this year, is one guy supporters would be very sad to see depart.
It is reasonable that he is apparently seeking to start as a first-team regular as early as next season given the amount of promise he has shown.
Given the embarrassment of riches in the position at the club, this raises questions about whether he will want to stay at Stamford Bridge.
Mauricio Pochettino, a potential new manager, is reportedly a fan of the young player and plans to work to incorporate him as early as next year.
