Chelsea’s first-half performance, which was at moments virtually amazing, was followed by a little less inspired second half, but OMG WE WON A GAME!
The Blues got off to a strong start with lots of confidence and vigor, and Gallagher once again put the Blues on the board with a well-timed move to elude his defender and complete Kanté’s cross from the right. Here we go—a goal in the next ten minutes!
Unfortunately, the home team scored a fantastic goal to set us back, then Matas Via equalized with a plan that could easily win goal of the month honors.
With the exception of a few surges from Madueke on the right and Mudryk down the left and center, we didn’t really accomplish much with our majority possession after the equalizer seemed to drain much of our confidence.
Chelsea came out of the locker room with new energy and purpose to open the second half, but they were unable to produce enough quality in front of goal to make that matter. Eventually, Bournemouth got back into the game and made numerous threats, including Thiago Silva escaping with what appeared to be a penalty in slow motion.
Carefree.
Chalobah is the proper back for Chelsea in a back-four. The two advanced midfielders on either side of Enzo are Gallagher and Kanté. On the wings are Madueke and Mudryk.
Chelsea scored 42 points; we’re staying up!
1st victory in ten! Frank Lampard’s first victory!
Nottingham Forest will play at home the following weekend.
