The South American attacker has reportedly been offered by the French champions to a number of clubs, including Erik Ten Hag’s Man United, according to recent sources, one of which came from Sky Sports.
What has Neymar been said about by Stan Collymore?
Stan Collymore, a former Liverpool forward, believes Premier League clubs should’steer well clear’ of Neymar because of the player’s dubious off-field antics, despite the fact that interest in him is sure to be considerable, especially if he publicly pushes for a transfer.
In an exclusive interview, Collymore stated, “There comes a time when a player can become a little bit of a circus act, and I think that’s the position Neymar is at right now.
“He’s a luxury player, but he has a side to his life that doesn’t help his profession, like being photographed in McDonald’s at 2 in the morning after his team just lost a Champions League match, for instance. I really don’t know how seriously he’s taking the game anymore because he is also quite into poker and that lifestyle clearly conflicts with professional football.
When questioned by media earlier in the week if Neymar is a target, Ten Hag refused to deny claims that he is aiming to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s number 10 and responded, “When we get news, we will tell you.
Neymar would draw negative attention to Manchester United.
Collymore, though, believes that Neymar would draw attention to Old Trafford that the Dutchman does not want, and that Man United should steer clear of signing the 31-year-old.
The former professional continued, “All Premier League sides, especially Man United, should steer well clear of trying to sign him.”
If the Red Devils did bring Neymar to Old Trafford, Ten Hag would surely not want his weekly news conferences to be dominated by questions on the Brazilian player.
Neymar, who is worth £70m (TM), has scored 118 goals and created 77 assists in 186 games in all competitions during his six years at the Parc des Princes.
