The Manchester United team has responded to Jack Butland leaving after his loan agreement expired.
Jack Butland has been signed by the Rangers to a permanent contract, effective July 1 when he becomes a free agency, the team announced yesterday night.
Butland has signed a four-year contract with the Rangers, where he is anticipated to take over as their starting quarterback.
Even though Manchester United had offered him the chance to stay as a backup, the bargain was too attractive for him to pass up.
Reaction to Jack Butland leaving
On June 30, at midnight, Jack Butland’s contract with Crystal Palace will expire, making his transfer to Rangers effective immediately.
He expressed his excitement to begin working at Ibrox in a post on Instagram
Butland joined Manchester United during the January transfer window and spent time there on loan. He sat on the bench for the FA Cup final as David de Gea’s backup.
Despite not appearing in a game for the team, he spent a lot of time working with his teammates and described United as a team that was “going places” in his farewell letter.
Bruno Fernandes told him, “You deserve the best,” in one of the encouraging texts he received.
Benni McCarthy, the coach, also left a message, stating that working with Butland had been a “pleasure.”
Teenager Alejandro Garnacho sent out yet another encouraging letter.
Butland clearly made an effect behind the scenes, while not having the opportunity to make an impact on the pitch.
