According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United is willing to let Eric Bailly go for under £2 million despite interest from Real Betis.
Last summer, the center-back was a part of Erik ten Hag’s preseason preparations, but he ultimately chose to join Marseille on loan in order to play regularly for the first team.
With only 23 appearances for the French team during the season, Bailly had a challenging year, and they decided not to exercise the option to purchase him permanently.
The international player from the Ivory Coast, whose contract is set to end in June of next year, is now said to be considering a permanent departure from United.
Seven years ago, Manchester United paid £30 million to get the 29-year-old from Villarreal, but Betis is now interested in buying him.
United appears ready to let Eric Bailly go.
Although Bailly has given United numerous outstanding performances, unforeseen ailments have thwarted his chances of establishing himself as a fixture in the starting lineup.
He is currently very low on Old Trafford’s priority list, and a transfer away from Manchester seems inevitable during the summer transfer window.
Although Bailly’s present salaries of £80,000 per week constitute a barrier for mid-table clubs, United would prefer to recover about £10 million from his sale.
Since Betis only invests an average of £29,500 per week in a player, Bailly might have to take a wage reduction in order to sign with them.
