According to Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg, who spoke about how far along the talks are in the German media, the most recent information on this action.
The reporter claims that Kovacic’s transfer to Manchester City is “close to being completed”
According to Plettenberg, Pep Guardiola’s team would spend €30 million on the move, “bonuses included,” by the end of the week.
In order to replace Ilkay Gündogan, whose deal at the Etihad Stadium ends at the end of the month, Manchester City moved quickly and early in the transfer season to sign the midfielder.
In 2018, Chelsea signed Kovacic on a loan from Real Madrid, and subsequently paid €45 million to make the transfer permanent in 2019.
The midfielder played 221 times throughout his time with the Blues, where he also won the Club World Cup, the Europa League, and the Champions League.
