The Red Devils have reached an agreement to sign the 16-year-old left defender from Watford, according to a report from The Athletic. Romano has backed up the assertion by claiming that the young player would sign a four-year contract with Old Trafford and that the agreement is “done deal.”
Due to their significant role in the player’s growth over the years, Watford will be compensated for the transfer. Romano claims that ‘this week’ will see the signing and completion of the agreement.
The young player played for Watford’s first team the previous season and was an inactive substitute in the FA Cup third-round matchup against Reading.
Watford was eager to retain the child after his scholarship agreement expired. Moving to Man Utd, one of the biggest teams in the world, has proven to be too alluring, though.
Outstanding talent
Amass seems to be a young player with promise, and big teams are known for buying elite talent from everywhere. Many consider him to be one of England’s best future possibilities since he is a natural left-back.
Since he was nine years old, he has advanced quickly at Vicarage Road and has already played for Watford’s U18 and U21 teams. Erik ten Hag clearly has great expectations for the young player because United has extended him a four-year contract.
Amass can likely represent the senior team in the near future, according to the Red Devils. He is already a seasoned England youth international, and he will likely play in the upcoming FIFA Under-17 World Cup.
Amass must restrain himself from going too far and continuing what he has been doing all along. He is an attacking full-back, much like Reece James or Kyle Walker-Peters, but he still has a long way to go before he can be compared to them.
