For Harry Kane, Bayern Munich has increased its offer to £70 million plus add-ons in the hopes that it will be sufficient to entice the striker away from Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite the fact that Kane’s contract expires next summer and he has shown little sign of wanting to sign an extension, Spurs rejected Bayern’s opening offer of £60 million plus add-ons for the player last month, believing it to be too low for a player they value at least £100 million. This puts Spurs at risk of losing their record goalscorer on a free transfer.
The 29-year-old England captain, who had also been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer before they abandoned their plans to pursue the player because they determined the amount of money required to entice him from north London was unrealistic, has had positive talks with Bayern about a move to the Bundesliga champions, and they remain keen to sign the player.
The Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy, is anticipated to be steadfast in his aim to obtain £100 million as a minimum for Kane, but Bayern hopes that their revised offer, coupled with the player’s willingness to join them, would cause Levy to soften his stance. They are awaiting Spurs’ official reaction, and should it once more be unfavourable, a third proposal may well be made very shortly.
Newcastle and Manchester United are both looking into trades for Axel Disasi of Monaco. The 25-year-old defender has four international appearances and earned his France debut at the 2014 World Cup.
