Bernardo Silva might decide to stay at Manchester City for another season, albeit reluctantly.
The Portuguese star’s dissatisfaction with life in England and his desire to leave City this summer have been the subject of nonstop stories for the past year, but for the second time in a row, his dream may not come true.
Silva may very well need to remain at City, according to Dean Jones, who was speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast.
Silva was generally anticipated to leave the Etihad this summer, but the departures of Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan have made the situation even more difficult.
Silva could need to remain
Jones revealed his knowledge of the £43 million man.
The one who has me the most curious is Bernardo Silva since I don’t believe they can let him go. Bernardo may become disgruntled and reluctantly remain at Man City for a second straight season, in my opinion. He wants to leave, although last season concluded with a treble and went fairly well,” Jones remarked.
Can’t risk losing him
Although Pep Guardiola has never been one to hold players against their will, the truth is that at this point, he truly can’t afford to lose Silva.
There isn’t now a like-for-like replacement for Silva in the team, and to be completely honest, there isn’t anyone on the transfer market either.
City wants to capitalize on its triumphs from the previous campaign, but after losing a few important players already, they run the risk of moving slightly backward.
We can only hope the City finds a way to make this summer’s solution satisfactory for all stakeholders.
