After prioritizing a striker, Bayern Munich is scrambling to sign the 29-year-old and has sent execs flying over to try and work out a deal.
The future of the England international, who has one year left on his contract, appears to be less certain than ever.
He hasn’t decided whether or not he will stay with Tottenham, which is causing speculation that he would leave north London this summer.
Rose, Kane’s former Spurs teammate, visited the talkSPORT studio on Thursday and shared some memories of his former comrade.
The left-back also acknowledged that, despite being able to see why Kane would want the transfer, a move to Bayern would not be his top priority.
On talkSPORT Drive, Rose made the following comment regarding Kane’s conceivable move to Germany: “If you was going to ask me the teams I would think of that Harry would join, I wouldn’t have said Bayern is one of the first ones I’d choose from.
“Having said that, you fully anticipate Bayern to appear in a Champions League quarterfinal or semifinal each year. I don’t get why not if you anticipate them to win the league.
Being from Tottenham, “you [talkSPORT anchor Darren Bent] know that Spurs doing business with the big teams in England is very rare.”
He added: “Tottenham to Chelsea is just never going to happen, so after that, you have to look abroad and if I’m Harry, yeah I don’t think Bayern is a bad one.”
Daniel Levy, the owner of Tottenham, has really been hesitant to trade Harry Kane to Premier League rivals, as evidenced in 2021 when he refused to give in to Manchester City’s interest in their talisman.
Despite their long-standing desire, United has not yet entered the competition for Kane, who will turn 30 on Friday, in part because of Levy’s position.
However, there is a good likelihood that Kane will leave Tottenham next year for free if a deal with Bayern is not reached.
The Englishman can then select whatever club he desires, as Rose also said.
Tottenham can say, “We’re not going to let him leave for free,” he continued, “but if Harry says, “Hang on a minute, I’m not going anywhere,” then we won’t allow him to go for free.”
“They won’t treat him the same way they treated me, and they won’t put him with the reserves.
“Harry holds all the cards because they won’t treat him that way and won’t take away his number.”
