After joining Manchester United, Rasmus Hojlund has expressed his joy.
The Denmark striker, who just signed for £72 million from Atalanta, admitted that as a young United supporter, he dreamed of emerging from the tunnel at Old Trafford.
Hojlund also lauded Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, calling him “one of the top coaches in the world” and said that ten Hag persuaded him to sign with the team.
Prior to the preseason friendly against Lens, the 20-year-old was introduced at Old Trafford on Saturday. He claims he is prepared to advance and have an influence at United.
It is no secret that Hojlund has supported Manchester United since he was a little child, and he stated on the team’s official website: “I dreamed of leaving Old Trafford as a Manchester United player. This chance to make that ambition a reality excites me tremendously, and I’m determined to repay the club’s confidence in me.
“I know that I am ready to make this step up and play with this bunch of world-class players, even though it is still early in my career.”
Hojlund claims that he is excited about the prospect of working for Ten Hag.
When he spoke to the manager, he realized that the setting would be ideal for his growth. He added: “I am excited about the chance to work with one of the top coaches in the world. Together with my new comrades at this unique organization, I am confident that I can accomplish great things with his help.
In just six games for Denmark, Hojlund has six goals.
He began his senior career at Copenhagen before earning a transfer to Sturm Graz, where he amassed 12 goals in 21 matches.
Afterward, Hojlund scored 10 goals in 34 games for Atalanta.
United has also hired Mason Mount and Andre Onana in addition to Hojlund.
