Mason Greenwood’s road to recovery has undoubtedly been long and arduous, but with a possible Man United comeback in the near future, the player has been seen being put to the test in practice.
He hasn’t yet reunited with his old and new Man United teammates, and according to The Sun, he might not have the chance if the team decides to loan him out. Nevertheless, he is working hard on the practice pitch to make himself ready for whatever comes next.
In photographs published by The Sun, Greenwood can be seen practicing while his father, who is holding Greenwood’s newborn daughter, is watching him.
It represents a remarkable change from when he was detained by the police 18 months prior on suspicion of attempted rape, coercive behavior, and assault causing serious bodily damage.
After being suspended by the Red Devils, Greenwood seemed to have little chance of recovering. He was able to resume his football career after all accusations were subsequently dropped.
Man United’s challenge is how people will view them if they accept Greenwood back into the fold.
Despite the fact that he is essentially innocent, the media’s treatment of his case thus far will ensure that he has a difficult time wherever United plays, which could have an impact on the team as a whole.
