Erling Haaland will receive a new contract from Manchester City that will eliminate the £150 million release clause.
In the event that Haaland signs a new contract and the new club satisfies the provision, he will be free to depart City in the summer of 2024. According to The Athletic, City is attempting to give the large Norwegian a fresh contract that does away with the condition.
Haaland was acquired by City last summer when they met his £51.7 million release clause from Borussia Dortmund that had been inserted in 2019. And it’s thought that Pep Guardiola had anything to do with the comparable clause in his City deal.
Manchester City will issue Erling Haaland a new contract without the £150 million release clause.
Haaland will be free to leave City in the summer of 2024 if he signs a new deal and the new club meets the requirement. The Athletic claims Manchester City is attempting to offer the big Norwegian a new contract without the stipulation.
When City met Haaland’s £51.7 million release clause from Borussia Dortmund, which had been inserted in 2019, they acquired him last summer. Pep Guardiola is said to have had some involvement with the same clause in his City contract.
