After the Premier League club ‘reached a deal in principle’ to sign the Serie A striker, Rasmus Hojlund appears set to be the attack’s focal point for Manchester United’s offense next season.
This summer, Erik ten Hag has been frantically looking for a new frontman and may have found it in Hojlund of Denmark. The 20-year-old only recently transferred to Atalanta from the Austrian team Sturm Graz for a figure of around £15 million.
According to reports, La Dea was seeking about four times that amount to selling their possibility, and it appears that United has satisfied their demands. Hojlund made his senior debut for Denmark last season after scoring 10 goals in 34 games for Atalanta across all competitions.
As a result of scoring six times in as many appearances for his country, his international career is off to an even more fruitful start.
Hojlund, who is already in the country, was scheduled to play against Bournemouth on Saturday in a preseason friendly. He was absent, though, from Atalanta’s 3-1 victory at the Vitality Stadium, which came hours before word broke that United and a deal had been agreed.
