In this summer’s transfer window, Manchester United has already made a number of notable additions. Fabrizio Romano has updated GIVEMESPORT on the most recent developments in their pursuit of Bayern Munich and France defender Benjamin Pavard as September 1st approaches.
The Frenchman will he reach Manchester?
Despite not playing at their best on Monday Night Football, Manchester United was still able to complete the task and begin the new campaign with three points. Raphael Varane scored the game’s lone goal with a header at Old Trafford, and a Wolverhampton Wanderers team in limbo exited empty-handed.
Speaking of Varane, it was a post he made to social media following the game that Benjamin Pavard commented on that really fueled this fire.
Pavard might become the fourth significant signing Erik Ten Hag has made so far. Rasmus Hojlund also came from Serie A, and Mason Mount made an enigmatic transition from his old team Chelsea. Andre Onana was purchased from Inter, the Champions League finalist.
The finest things in life have been enjoyed by Pavard in Munich, where he has won numerous domestic cups, including four league championships and the 2019–20 Champions League. Additionally, he was instrumental in helping France reach the last two World Cup finals, where they defeated Croatia in one, and Argentina and Lionel Messi won the famed Jules Rimet trophy.
The defender, who has been hailed as “outstanding”, seems keen to force his way out of the Bavarian region after four seasons there, having joined from fellow Bundesliga side Stuttgart.
What is Fabrizio Romano’s update on Pavard?
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tells GIVEMESPORT all about the future of Benjamin Pavard and where his head is at.
“At the moment, Bayern are not interested in this transfer, but in my opinion, Pavard has a possibility to join Man Utd because the player wants to leave.
“Pavard has spoken to Bayern over the past few days and has informed them that he won’t be extending his contract and that he wants to join Manchester United in order to explore this possibility. Let’s now see what transpires between the clubs.
Old Trafford has had additional changes…
United has brought in a custodian, a midfielder, and a forward, as was already mentioned. In terms of both incomings and outgoings, defence is now the position with the most activity.
Even though his intended transfer to West Ham United appears to be dead in the water, the former captain Harry Maguire may very well fall into the latter category before the end of the window.
According to Alex Crook’s latest report, Ten Hag wants to keep the Englishman on staff, and the center-back is expected to stay and compete with players like Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof for playing time.
To support the young Hojlund, there might be a second new addition in the attacking third.
Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix is the man in question following rumours that the relationship between him and manager Diego Simeone is on the ropes. The Portuguese international was on loan with Chelsea last year and despite their clear struggles on the field, he showed moments of brilliance.
