During Manchester City’s 1-0 victory against Newcastle, manager Pep Guardiola yelled at a spectator to take his place in the dugout.
In the 82nd minute of the Premier League match on Saturday (August 19) evening, Guardiola turned to the crowd and pointed at the offending City fan.
They appeared to have said something he didn’t like and were supposed to “sort it out.” Uncertainty surrounded exactly who he was pointing towards, although one supporter could be seen grinning throughout the unusual scene.
At home, City supporters were laughing as well. “Yo the fan better calm otherwise he boutta catch these hands,” one person tweeted.
“Telling the greatest manager of all time to ‘figure it out’ in front of him is insane,” countered a second. “Pep is f***ing hilarious man,” said a third.
A fourth cracked a joke, “Imagine teaching your grandmother how to cook,” and a fifth added, “Typical Pep. Cooking constantly, both on and off the pitch.
At the Etihad, Julian Alvarez’s goal in the first half gave City the victory. Phil Foden’s cutback to the edge of the box was followed by his shot into the top corner past Nick Pope.
