Matheus Nunes, a star for the Wolves, is apparently a target for Manchester City.
Wanderers reportedly do not want to move Nunes or any of the other four players at this juncture in the transfer window.
Given Ruben Neves’ departure from the team, Nunes is regarded as a crucial player.
The reigning Premier League champions City, however, are reportedly interested.
Matheus Nunes is a target for Manchester City.
David Ornstein of The Athletic reports that City is now considering Nunes, who is 24 years old.
They recently pulled out of a deal to acquire Lucas Paqueta from West Ham United.
With just over a week left, Nunes is someone who is on their radar, though.
According to The Athletic, City is “looking at a select group of prospects to fill the vacuum” created by the injured Kevin De Bruyne.
Nunes joined Wolves only last summer after leaving Sporting CP for a reported £42 million.
Although he had difficulties in his maiden Premier League season, he occasionally showed brilliance.
Concerned about wolves
According to rumors, Wolves don’t want to move Nunes, who has been called a “complete midfielder,” at this time in the transfer season.
But Wolves will consider ‘inflated offers’ for Nunes and a few other players.
City obviously has a lot of money. They were set to splash £85 million on Paqueta before that move fell through.
It will be fascinating to see if they do make a sizable offer to try the resolve of Wolves.
Hopefully, Wanderers can maintain their resolve.
Because bringing in a replacement at this point may make Wolves’ night.
