Walker has signed a new contract at the Etihad, keeping him at the club through the summer of 2026. Walker had been linked with a move to Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window.
To announce the 33-year-old’s new contract, City published a humorous video in which the player gave his best Jordan Belfort impersonation.
In addition, after signing his contract extension, he appeared to take a shot at the Spurs. Before transferring to Man City, Walker played in North London for eight seasons.
The England international played more than 200 games with Spurs, but he was unable to bring home any hardware.
A big cry from his time with the Blues, where he amassed an incredible collection of awards, including FIVE Premier League championships and the Champions League.
Walker discussed his career experience and the reality that he never won anything at Spurs after agreeing to a new contract.
“Obviously, I hadn’t won anything when I signed from Tottenham,” he remarked.
Walker, who has previously won two FA Cups and four EFL Cups, will continue to pursue further trophies because he thinks his squad has “no excuses” to take home a trophy this year.
He stated on the club’s official website, “We have no justifications.
“Everything we have here is top-notch, including the facilities, the chefs, the kitmen, and the nutritionists.
So there is no longer any justification for us not to perform to the best of our abilities if they are doing what they can or at their highest level. There are no defenses.
And as a team of players, we should demand it of ourselves. We are aware that this club and organization only hires the best in their field.
“So all we have to do is show up every game day, score three points, and move on to the next one,” said the player.
