Man United can’t turn down this kind of offer.
If Manchester United gets a good offer, they might be open to letting Casemiro leave in January.
Though he made a big impact in his first year at Old Trafford, the second year has proven to be far more challenging for the Brazil international that United recruited last season.
Given his age, the United management and some supporters are aware that the 31-year-old, who was purchased for £60 million, is reputedly paid £300,000 per week.
The midfield player has been rumoured to becoming the most recent well-known figure to go to Saudi Arabia in 2024, despite his recent decline in performance.
Casemiro is Man United’s top scorer this season
Casemiro made 51 appearances for Manchester United in his debut season, tallying seven goals. With four goals in his 12 games thus far this season, he leads the team in scoring.
Erik ten Hag anticipates that the Brazilian and Lisandro Martinez will be sidelined for some time due to their hamstring injuries sustained in the 3-0 League Cup defeat to Newcastle. He informed the press:
“Casemiro and Martinez are really strong injuries, I don’t expect them back before Christmas.”
Casemiro might even play for a new team when he returns. United thinks they can recover “a large chunk of their initial expense on the player, in terms of transfer fee and wages,” according to 90min. In essence, United might move on a high earner and recover a significant portion of the £60 million spend.
The club is not actively seeking to sell, they continued, but they would consider relocating the former Real Madrid player for the “right price.”
Furthermore, the midfield player might team up with international colleague Neymar at Al Hilal or former Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr if he relocates to the Middle East.
There are still four years remaining on Casemiro’s United deal, but United might use this as an opportunity to cash in while his stock is still high enough.
