Fabrizio Romano Reveals Ten Hag’s Protege Ready for Old Trafford Loan Exit
In January, Donny van de Beek is expected to go on loan from Manchester United, per a report from Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer expert disclosed on X (formerly known as Twitter) that European clubs had made several approaches to the Dutch midfield player in an attempt to sign him on a six-month loan.
While Girona is mentioned, Romano thinks Eintracht Frankfurt “led the race” to recruit Van de Beek.
Frankfurt is now far from fourth in the Bundesliga, sitting in seventh position. But as they have already advanced out of their Europa Conference League group, they can now provide Van de Beek the chance to play football in Europe during the second half of the season.
In contrast, Girona does not participate in any continental competitions.
They do, however, remarkably lead the Liga table after their decisive 4-2 victory against Barcelona over the weekend. It is believed that the Spanish team is currently proposing “different conditions” than Frankfurt, which puts the German club in the lead, according to Romano.
This indicates that Frankfurt is probably presenting United with a more alluring financial package, either by agreeing to pay a larger portion of Van de Beek’s salary or by charging a loan fee.
But Romano isn’t so sure that “Donny will leave United” come January.
Due to his decline in Erik ten Hag’s midfield hierarchy, the former Ajax star has only played two minutes of Premier League football this season.
In fact, the Dutch manager stated that Van de Beek “has to play” for the benefit of his own career, suggesting that Ten Hag would be content for the midfielder to go in January in order to get more reliable playing time.
United is reportedly expecting a busy transfer window in January, so any departures would be appreciated since they would provide financial support to the team.
The wisest course of action for the player and his club seems to be a loan move during the winter transfer window.
