Alexis Mac Allister Takes to Social Media with Crucial Injury Update
Mac Allister, 24, was forced to miss the Reds’ thrilling 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace last Saturday due to a knee injury he sustained against Sheffield United during their midweek match.
Manager Jurgen Klopp told reporters that the Argentine’s knee issue “doesn’t look too good” in response to the player’s most recent setback in terms of injuries, per BBC Sport.
“We have to wait and see how Macca does,” the German remarked.
After the game, they had some optimism that it was not a major situation. While it’s not a major concern, missing five days during the year equates to roughly 12 games.
He won’t be prepared for [Saturday], in my opinion. After that, I’m not sure about Thursday or Sunday, so it’s essentially stop and go. We must observe.
And now giving his own update, Mac Allister published a picture of himself lounging on his Instagram account on Monday (which Liverpool Echo repeated). The shot showed him badly bandaged on his knee.
Mac Allister will be concentrating on winning the race against time to play against fierce rivals Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday. He is unlikely to be well enough to play against Union Saint Gilloise in the Europa League on Thursday.
