Fabio Carvalho the 21-year-old, who first joined the German club in June on a temporary contract, has played for just over 250 minutes.
And This Is Anfield is aware that the Reds are now looking to terminate the loan early because it isn’t really helping Carvalho’s progress.
Of his 11 appearances, only two have been starts, and those two came in late September, one right after the other.
Carvalho, who had pushed for a transfer to the Bundesliga during the summer, is not happy with this outcome.
The former Fulham starlet was given notice early on in the season that he would not be included in Jurgen Klopp’s plans, which allowed him to go on loan.
RB Leipzig initially pushed for a permanent deal, but Carvalho chose not to stay in the Premier League despite having a lot of possibilities.
The forward signed a season-long contract as a result of an eventual compromise, but in the following months, neither the club nor the player have found success with that arrangement.
Carvalho left Fulham in the summer of 2022 to join Liverpool, but despite Klopp’s insistence that the young player was training brilliantly, he only made 13 appearances in his debut season at Anfield, with just eight starts.
The athlete acknowledged that during the summer he had asked to be transferred.
