Pochettino says time and patience will see the Blues improve, in a message to Todd Boehly
Even if some may think Mauricio Pochettino is “crazy,” he is confident that with enough time and perseverance, Chelsea will succeed under his leadership.
They have fallen to 12th in the league after a difficult start to the season for both Pochettino and his team, which included last weekend’s loss at Everton.
Despite having one of the most expensively assembled squads in the world, Pochettino hinted over the week that he may require even more new recruits in January after Reece James became the most recent addition to the Blues treatment table.
The manager stated, “We knew it was going to be difficult and it is more difficult because of the unexpected circumstances that you always plan to have but not a lot,” at his news conference on Friday. The manager had previously disclosed that he had lost his voice from yelling at his players.
“How, after five or six months, we are suffering. Even though I’m sad and feel horrible about it, that struggle is beneficial for us because we definitely want to be in a different situation.
“That is the challenge, and we intend to return and engage in combat. A scenario like that will create five distinct possibilities and components, increase its intelligence, and change the coaching staff.
“We have a great challenge ahead of us, but I think we can succeed.” It just takes time, but sometimes time is on our side. We just need to be patient and have faith in our current course of action.
“It goes without saying that maintaining faith in the face of unfulfilled expectations is the most challenging aspect of football.
“We will undoubtedly succeed. You’ll observe. I’m not insane, but you could call this person crazy today. Being 51 years old, I know what I’m doing.”
After missing four months due to a knee injury, summer signing Christopher Nkunku has finally removed his name from the injured list. He is scheduled to make his debut tomorrow at home against Sheffield United. James is back on the injured list.
However, due to a knee ailment, starting goalie Robert Sanchez will visit a specialist, and Marc Cucurella will also be out of commission.
“It is very sad because we are going to lose this player for a few weeks,” Pochettino stated. We still have to wait to find out how things stand between Marc Cucurella and Reece James. I’d rather not talk to Reece.
We will examine the matter thoroughly. Reece was thrilled to be back, and we played for twenty-five, forty, and sixty minutes, gradually bringing him back. It was the ideal method for boosting his self-esteem and physical health.
We must use caution when speaking with him in order to find the best solution because he is angry and frustrated.
“We are here to support him to try and help, and we are all thinking in terms of finding a solution for as soon as possible to get him with the group, full recovery, then try so the same thing doesn’t happen again.”
Commenting on Nkunku’s comeback, he said, “Yes, can be involved. That’s excellent news.
It’s wonderful news for us that he will be participating tomorrow, be a member of the team, and begin to sense his teammates and the competition following the preseason. He will be under a lot of pressure, therefore we need to remain silent and calm.”
Malo Gusto is back to full fitness, while Romeo Lavia, Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell, Carney Ugochukwu, Trevoh Chalobah, and Lesley Ugochukwu are still sidelined.
