Ben Doak will be out for an extended length of time for Liverpool.
The winger needs surgery since he tore his lateral meniscus. Doak’s setback occurred when he hobbled out during the under-21 team’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea last Saturday in the 28th minute.
The 18-year-old has made a total of six games this season, but he has mostly been a part of Jurgen Klopp’s squad. Doak may have played in tomorrow night’s Carabao Cup quarterfinal matchup with West Ham, but he will now need surgery and likely need a long recovery period.
“That’s not a good one,” remarked Pep Lijnders, assistant manager. He requires surgery since he tore his lateral meniscus. That one is going to take more time. He is young, physically fit, and optimistic, so it is likely that he will return stronger. However, we need him to return with the same intensity and passion that he did when he was playing the ball. We’ll wait for him even if he takes some time.
