The sour rivalry between Nick Kyrgios and the disgraced tennis legend Boris Becker has flared up once more.
Since 2020, when Becker referred to Kyrgios as a “rat” for remarks he made about fellow tennis player Alex Zverev, the two have been at odds with one another. After taunting the German with insults such as “doughnut,” Kyrgios, 28, asked his 56-year-old opponent if he had been telling the truth about the knee injury that had ended his 2023 Australian Open career.
However, the Australian bad boy struck out again a short while ago, saying that players like former greats like Boris Becker would not have made it in the current game. Kyrgios referred to any similarities as “absurd” and emphasized how the game’s speed differed.
Since then, Becker has returned the favour by adding, “It’s just a matter of respecting our sport’s history and publicly expressing gratitude to the former players.” You have to be happy they were around because the tennis circus would not be around if they weren’t.
Never before have there been as many cash awards and as much media coverage as there are now. Why? For this sport’s legends.
“These players all made it possible for Nick Kyrgios to play tennis for a living without having to do so year-round.”
Never one to back down, Kyrgios has responded by savagely criticizing Becker for concealing loans and assets worth £2.5 million, which forced the Wimbledon icon to serve eight months of a two-and-a-half year prison sentence.
On Twitter, Kyrgios posted, “Bro what?” As one of the SELECT FEW PLAYERS, I have increased the number of fans for the sport by a million and increased revenue for NETFLIX overall. I can’t recall seeing Boris there. Guy is absurd. Without assistance from others, I have succeeded in my career off the court.
He continued, saying, “Uh, what? Over the past ten years, I’ve probably been one of the most watched players outside of the top three. and: “Fans all across the world have introduced the sport to a huge number of new fans. I’ve produced original work outside of the court. Try not to conceal any more assets x.
