Conor Bradley was excellent for the Reds in his game. Jamie Redknapp, the former captain of Liverpool, took notice of the 20-year-old after he had played the entire ninety minutes.
It’s a promising sign for Bradley’s potential run in the team. Jurgen Klopp will require Trent Alexander-Arnold as the Northern Irishman will be sidelined for several weeks due to injury.
Conor showed last night that he is most than capable of doing this. But following the 2-1 triumph, the right-back acknowledged to LFCTV that replacing Alexander-Arnold is a difficult task.
Given his current play, Trent is undoubtedly the finest right-back in the world, if not the best player in the world, the young player exclaimed. Thus, he is greatly missed by us. We were fortunate to prevail since I did everything in my power to cover for him.
“Am I really Trent Alexander-Arnold? I’ll simply play my part and do what I can to help the squad, and hopefully it will work out well for us.
Bradley salutes Arnold Alexander
Naturally, a lot of people will disagree, but given Trent’s recent play, he ought to be well-represented in this discussion.
Not many athletes are as influential as the 25-year-old. Not to mention from a full-back. He is genuinely unique.
Naturally, the fact that Alexander-Arnold has performed so well just serves to emphasize how much they will miss him.
There are other players out there right now—quite a few, in fact—but none that Liverpool supporters would yearn for quite as much as their vice captain.
Fortunately, it doesn’t sound like a serious injury. I’m hoping he can return before the end of January.
Bradley, in the interim, has a significant opportunity. The Northern Ireland international has a confidence that belies his nervousness. His readiness to take over was demonstrated last night.
But as the recent academy graduate points out, he’s not Trent. We shouldn’t be comparing what Bradley offers with what Liverpool’s No.66 servers up week-in-week-out.
Conor will be alright during this stretch if he can continue to play as he did last night. After then, he can continue. Alexander-Arnold’s backup will not be embarrassed by his comeback once he is fully recovered.
