Alejo Veliz is on his way after Tottenham Hotspur approved Sevilla’s loan deal for the young Argentine:
Veliz has a great potential to play in the top division of football, as chances to do so at Spurs are probably going to be scarce. Sevilla has been having a terrible season in La Liga; they are presently ranked 16th and need all the support they can get after dropping six of their last seven games.
Veliz is on a straight loan and will return to Spurs at the end of the current campaign. His parent club is hoping that this experience will help him become a better player in the Premier League. Veliz will probably face up against Mariano Diaz, who has missed a significant portion of the season due to injury, Youssef En-Nesyri, who is back from the AFCON and is battling for goals, and promising prospect Isaac Romero at Sevilla.
It also implies that Dane Scarlett, whose loan to Ipswich Town was cancelled earlier in the month, may continue at Spurs and play the role of backup striker (well, behind Son and Richarlison at least, and possibly Werner too).
I hope Veliz receives minutes; I wish him well in Spain!
