Erling Haaland, Manchester City’s star striker, has made new remarks that will encourage the team during a week when English media has been dominated by stories from Spain.
This week, a pro-Real Madrid source claimed that the Norway international had become dissatisfied with the English weather, citing his purchase of a Marbella villa and his length of stay in Spain as proof.
During his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, manager Pep Guardiola responded to questions from the media about the claim by telling them that he has only observed the club’s number nine having a positive mentality both on and off the pitch.
The player hasn’t had a chance to talk about his personal life or his alleged dissatisfaction in Manchester, though, so far, which has allowed social media to talk about it extensively in the face of Real Madrid’s growing interest.
Speaking to Manchester City’s official club podcast, which Jack Gaughan of MailSports obtained, Erling Haaland has now reiterated his satisfaction with the lifestyle and culture available in England while emphasising how football is his top priority in his line of work.
“I love football,” Haaland declared. “My family can travel from Norway easily; it’s just a short distance across the sea. When I meet fans, I enjoy their positive energy and vibes. The humour. the majority of English people.
“I love to joke like them—we’re similar in Norway, we like the banter,” the 23-year-old said. We joke around with each other as Manchester United supporters, and people see us on the streets. To a certain extent, people leave me alone. It appeals to me. It’s wonderful because I can joke around with people when I’m in the shop.
This week, Erling Haaland and his Manchester City colleagues will be totally focused on their Premier League away match against Brentford in London. They are aiming to take advantage of Liverpool’s 3-1 loss to rival title contenders Arsenal.
