Rasmus Hojlund named his ideal Manchester United five-a-side team, leaving out club star Wayne Rooney.
Rasmus Hojlund scored in Man United’s 3-0 victory over West Ham United on Sunday, his fourth goal in as many games for the team.
With a powerful goal to start the scoring, he scored his fourth Premier League goal of the year.
Hojlund spoke with Mark Goldbridge after his valiant performance at Old Trafford on a variety of subjects, from whether his contract had a release clause to selecting his ideal five-a-side team.
The little Dane wasn’t permitted to mention any present Man United players when choosing his ideal five-a-side squad.
Peter Schmeichel, a fellow countryman who played in the team’s renowned 1999 treble-winning campaign, was Hojlund’s choice for goalie.
“I need to put Peter in goal,” he clarified on The United Stand. Peter hails from Denmark. Here, Peter came out on top in every way. Due to his role in helping us win the Euros, Peter is not only a legend here but also in Denmark.”
“I need to put Rio in there because he’s very memorable to me,” the 21-year-old said, selecting Rio Ferdinand over Nemanja Vidic in the defence.
“I would love to put Vidic in there, but I can only have one defender,” he said.
With Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, and Cristiano Ronaldo, the striker completed his ideal five-a-side lineup.
“I want to put Ryan Giggs in there, Paul Scholes and then Cristiano Ronaldo up front,” he stated.
Along with selecting his ideal five-a-side team, Goldbridge also agreed with three of Hojlund’s selections.
He chose Roy Keane and Rooney and sided with the Man United player over Schmeichel, Scholes, and Ronaldo.
With 10 goals this season across all competitions, Hojlund will be hoping to score in his fifth straight game when the Red Devils take on fourth-place Aston Villa on Sunday.
