Enzo Fernandez denies leaving Chelsea: ‘I’m very happy here.
Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez told reporters that he is “happy” at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, refuting reports that he would be leaving the team.
As part of their massive roster enhancement initiatives, Chelsea paid as much as 121 million euros, or roughly $129.6 million, to buy Fernandez from Benfica. Not even near to the UEFA Champions League zone, the team is now in 10th place in the Premier League after 24 games.
In thirty Chelsea appearances, Fernandez has contributed one assist and seven goals. These figures are in no way in line with his transfer fee and pay. For this reason, rumours have circulated that he would go this summer.
“I’m not sure where such rumours originated. social networks, I believe. I vehemently disagree. I’m really pleased here at Chelsea, so I don’t want to leave,” Fernandez said to ESPN. “They [Chelsea] have taken excellent care of me since the first day. I’m really appreciative. Whatever transpires in the world of football, I am thankful and content at Chelsea. I’ll stay [here] for however long they want.”
At Selhurst Park in Selhurst, England, on Monday, Chelsea defeated Crystal Palace 3-1 to avoid losing three games in a row. Their last goal came from Fernandez in the fourth minute of stoppage time. It was his first objective in more than a month.
Fernandez stated, “I’ve been getting better over the last few months.” “I had a great start to the season, but after some ups and downs, I’m finally rediscovering myself and feeling well again. I am appreciative of my teammates and the coaching staff for their unwavering belief in me and for pushing me down this crucial route.”
In the upcoming month, Chelsea will play four challenging teams: Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, and Arsenal. If they may participate in the European competitions the following season, it will probably depend on the outcomes of these games.
We value the win at Crystal Palace highly,” Fernandez remarked. “We won the FA Cup against Aston Villa last week. Above all, we are altering our mindset, and this win undoubtedly boosts our confidence for the future.”
He stated, “The Premier League is very demanding,” and that “we’ve had ups and downs in the league throughout the season, which is why we find ourselves a little out of the first places.” However, there is still a long way to go. We are confident in our efforts and our new squad, and we are getting better every day to reach our goal of competing in the Champions League the following season.”
