Phil Foden wowed the CBS Sports panel with not just his performance for Manchester City but also the cost of his haircut, especially when compared to Micah Richards’.
Phil Foden paid so much for his haircut that Kate Abdo and Micah Richards were floored.
Speaking to the CBS Sports panel on Tuesday night (February 13), Foden discussed his most recent outstanding performance for Manchester City. Pundits Richards, Thierry Henry, and Jamie Carragher are joined by host Abdo.
They won 3-1 on the road in their Champions League round of 16 match against Denmark thanks to another goal and an assist from the England midfielder, who has been playing well lately.
Richards asked him a very important question at the conclusion of the interview. “I won’t lie, your trim looks kind of fresh, so before you go, who’s your barber?” the former City defender questioned his former teammate.
Richards shocked everyone last year when he revealed that he has his hair cut three times a week for £200 a time. Foden responded, “I’ve heard you pay a lot for your trim!”
Abdo inquired, “How much do you pay for yours?” as Richards and Carragher giggled. They were all taken aback by Foden’s response, “20 quid from the local.”
Richards and Abdo didn’t believe he was telling the truth. The former argued, “No you do not pay 20 quid,” while the latter said, “No you do not.”
But Foden was not lying, retaliating with, “I promise! Of course, I help him out occasionally. Since I was eight years old, I have been coming to the same barber.”
The 23-year-old has, in fact, worn his hair in the same style since he was a small child—the exception being when he went platinum blonde for the 2020 European Championship.
Richards joked, “Did he slip when he got to your eyebrows?” in reference to the new addition—a slit in his left eyebrow. “Yeah, he’s stayed there ever since,” Foden complied.
