Red Bull GmbH, the parent company of Red Bull Racing, is now looking into the behavior of its CEO and team principal following a complaint. Horner has categorically refuted every accusation.
Although a decision was not anticipated to be made until just before the Bahrain Grand Prix, a report has since surfaced that indicates it may happen sooner.
Red Bull advances the findings of the inquiry into Christian Horner
The Dutch publication De Telegraf alleged that the inappropriate behavior was sexual, prompting Red Bull to attempt to expedite the process, according to the British newspaper The Times.
When PlanetF1.com contacted Red Bull to inquire about the veracity of De Telegraf’s claim, they were informed that “it would not be appropriate for us to comment until the investigation is completed.”
According to The Times, Red Bull GmbH was prompted to expedite the procedure “to end the disruption as well as the uncertainty” after reading the report, which was released on Friday.
Horner spent nine hours last week in London meeting with an independent attorney that Red Bull had recruited to hear his side of the story. The Red Bull CEO was present for the team’s RB20 introduction on Thursday in Milton Keynes, and while he acknowledged it was a “distraction,” he also stated he had no plans to stand down.
Additionally, according to De Telegraf, the female employee received a settlement offer of £650,000 just before the story was publicized. However, according to the Daily Mail, Horner’s attorney has refuted the existence of any such offer.
During the launch, Horner told reporters, including those from PlanetF1.com, that the squad was still focused on the upcoming season.
“The team is very cohesive, but there has unavoidably been a distraction,” he stated. “Everyone is concentrating on the next season. Everything has gone very much as typical. The help has been excellent.
“The upcoming season is a major focus of mine. Everything has continued as usual.
“I am fully occupied with an investigation, so it is happening in the background as I get ready for the upcoming season.”
