Even though Harry Kane is Bayern’s leading scorer this year, his club has lost two straight games to Leverkusen and Lazio without scoring any goals.
Thomas Tuchel, Harry Kane’s manager, stated that the player is “unhappy” with his engagement at Bayern Munich as pressure builds on the Bundesliga champions after back-to-back losses.
Bayern suffered a shocking 1-0 loss against Lazio in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 match on Wednesday after being humiliated 3-0 by title rivals Bayer Leverkusen the previous weekend.
Since joining Bayern from Tottenham in the summer, Kane has made 29 appearances across all competitions and scored 28 goals, making him the team’s leading scorer this season. However, the England captain was scoreless in both losses.
With Tuchel’s squad already eliminated from the German Cup, Bayern trailed Leverkusen by eight points going into their Bundesliga match against Bochem on Sunday. The manager indicated that there had been a rift between the England captain and his teammates in the previous games.
Harry is already skilled at what he does. Naturally, he’s not satisfied with how he’s now involved, too,” Tuchel remarked. And we’re not happy with how we discover him or don’t find him in the games.
“I have seldom, if ever, witnessed such a disparity between his training and game performances—how he scores, how he leads the team, and how his team triumphs. It’s astounding. It’s truly of the highest caliber.
Then, how little of him is there in the game? That kind of sums up the state of affairs. However, it is he who acts like a captain. That explains why Harry is doing well. At the greatest level, he requires very little upkeep.”
Kane is the best scorer in the German top division with 24 goals scored in the Bundesliga. Earlier in the season, the 30-year-old was on track to match Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 goals in a single campaign, but since the Bundesliga resumed play after its winter break, his scoring output has decreased.
On March 5, Bayern will play Lazio in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal match. Should Bayern fail to reverse their first-leg loss and move on to the quarterfinals, Tuchel would be under intense pressure.
