Liverpool’s rising talents were the talk of the town last night. They stepped up and gave everyone in attendance at Anfield a night to remember in the absence of Jurgen Klopp’s essential first team players.
From Caoimhin Kelleher in goal, to Jarell Quansah playing alongside Conor Bradley at right-back and center-back on the right side. Next were Harvey Elliott and Ryan Gravenberch, who both joined the team and performed admirably in their assigned positions.
Not to note Jurgen Klopp’s admiration for Bobby Clark’s outstanding cameo. Additionally, James McConnell, who has been drawing attention all season, makes yet another cameo. In addition, Jayden Danns made his debut, making an impact on the game right away and contributing significantly to Liverpool’s fourth goal.
But if we had to single out one player, it would have to be Liverpool’s 20-year-old sensation, who was playing for the first time in his career that evening. Conor Bradley must have realised that too, for he ran to hug him following the game to express his gratitude.
Hurrying to Harvey Elliott is Conor Bradley
Following the last whistle, Elliott collapsed on the ground, clearly worn out. He was all over the pitch and gave a fantastic performance, so it makes sense. Bradley sprinted over to help him up as soon as he saw that he was unconscious.
The fact that Elliott is only 20 years old is astonishing. He was already taking on a very significant senior role on the pitch, controlling play and consistently setting up opportunities for Liverpool. One major indication to his brilliance is the fact that he has already made 100 appearances for the first squad.
Not many players have reached that milestone for Liverpool, and Elliott is one of the few that did so at a younger age. Despite his apparent undervaluation, he remains one of the club’s most gifted players. Someone capable of succeeding and rising to legendary status at Liverpool. This performance served as another illustration of that.
