Jorginho has received a lot of flak from Arsenal supporters since joining from our neighbours Chelsea, but following some early season injury setbacks, he has returned to the team and is playing excellent midfield alongside Declan Rice.
Jorginho was crowned MOTM following our humiliation of Liverpool, and he has since repeated the feat in our victory over Newcastle yesterday.
After the match, Mikel Arteta told Arsenal.com that Jorginho was a top player, particularly when the opposition used specific set-ups or tendencies. He will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the game, in my opinion, but you have to play at this level, and even when he isn’t playing regularly, you still have to give him credit for his outstanding performance today.
“He is undoubtedly [world class], but I believe that everyone of us played exceptionally well tonight and once again lifted the level.
“Credit to the boys; Newcastle is a top team with really good coaching. It’s hard to do what we did today, to put them in the positions and make them suffer like we did.”
after returning from Dubai, Arsenal has scored 25 goals in six league games, putting serious pressure on Liverpool and Man City at the top of the table. This form has continued after the New Year. All we can do is watch in amazement as we dominate our opponents and make this one of the most competitive title fights for many years to come.
Sheffield United is scheduled to be our next victims, therefore we ought to feel bad for them.
