In light of rumors regarding manager Sebastian Hoeneß’s future, the kicker reports that VfB Stuttgart wants to speak with him at the end of the season.
Since Thomas Tuchel left Bayern Munich in the summer, Hoeneß has been associated with both Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich. The manager may receive a minimal compensation fee as Hoeneß’s contract expires in 2025.
Regarding his future at Stuttgart, Hoeneß stated: “Everyone who comes in contact with me here can tell how much I enjoy it and how intently I pay attention to everything that is going on.” I want to carry on like that.
Despite key players departing in the summer, Hoeneß joined Stuttgart last season and kept the team from relegation. Since then, he has completely transformed the team, moving it from fighting for relegation to challenging for Champions League spots. VfB is currently third in the Bundesliga, six points behind Bayern.
But would it be too hard to accept the offer to manage at Bayern, where he was a youth coach and his uncle Uli remains a vital figurehead? In comparison to Stuttgart, he would have a larger budget at Leverkusen.
