After a protracted investigation, Christian Horner awaits word on his future at Red Bull.
According to reports, Christian Horner’s co-owner Mark Mateschitz of Red Bull is determined that he depart the team “quickly,” and he wants an announcement regarding his future within the next two days. After a female colleague complained to Red Bull’s parent business in Austria, Horner is being investigated for allegedly inappropriate actions, which he fiercely disputes.
The drama has clouded the Red Bull team’s reputation going into the new campaign, as the reigning champions have had to cope with an excessive amount of unwelcome media attention. Since the investigation’s news leaked, Horner has been performing his regular duties, and he was present at Bahrain’s preseason test last week.
It was reported by De Telegraaf that Mateschitz, the son of Red Bull co-founder Dietrich, would rather ‘get rid of Horner swiftly’ than let him stay on as team principal. Red Bull’s management is rumored to be at odds over Horner’s future, given he has guided the team since its 2005 F1 debut.
The company’s 49% Austrian ownership is reportedly adamant that Horner quit, but Chalerm Yoovidhya, a significant stakeholder from Thailand, is reportedly of a different opinion. Holder of a 51 percent share in the business, the latter is said to have ‘protected’ Horner thus far.
Red Bull’s external inquiry is reportedly already complete, and its results are expected to be made public on Tuesday or Wednesday. The board of the corporation, which will eventually decide whether Horner stays or leaves, has now received a lengthy study that is estimated to be over 100 pages long.
Many celebrities have stated that they would like the process to be finished as soon as possible. Max Verstappen, for example, quietly urged Red Bull to finish up when he was questioned about it last week.
“It’s best if I simply concentrate on my performance because that’s already my day job,” he stated. “Yeah, obviously everyone enjoys it when things are handled. However, that’s all I have to say about it.”
In its first public remark regarding the Horner case, Formula One expressed its desire for a speedy resolution as well, stating: “We hope that the matter will be clarified at the earliest opportunity after a fair and thorough process.”
It has been observed that Red Bull has initiated an impartial inquiry into claims made by employees within Red Bull Racing. We won’t be making any more comments at this time.
