Mason Greenwood has expressed his thoughts on the possibility of joining Manchester United again following his loan at Getafe in Spain, as discussed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s suggestion that Mason Greenwood might play for Manchester United again, Greenwood says he has “no desire” to do so.
The recent academy graduate of the Red Devils is presently on loan at Getafe in Spain. After the Crown Prosecution Service withdrew its accusations of attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behavior, and assault resulting in actual bodily harm, United sent him out on a temporary transfer.
Ratcliffe, the club’s newest minority owner, recently hinted that the team would be open to the forward returning to Old Trafford. But the striker doesn’t seem to be interested.
The Athletic claims that Greenwood would be “reluctant” to return to Manchester. It’s said that he doesn’t want to play for the Red Devils again and believes the team should have done a better job of supporting him.

The 22-year-old Greenwood’s final Man United game was in January 2022. If he were to never play for the team again, his record would stand at 35 goals in 129 games.
Following Ratcliffe’s recent remarks that the Red Devils still need to make a long-term decision about his future, Greenwood responded. “We will make a decision, correct,” he stated.
“I can only discuss the general framework for how we will approach such issues. Is he the right kind of football player and do we think he’s a good man?
Since he plays football for Manchester United, we are in command of the game. Thus, the response is “Yes, decisions must be made.” We need to decide.
“A decision has not yet been made. Naturally, he’s on loan, but he’s not the only one. We will deal with the one or two football players we have to deal with and make a decision about.
The procedure will be to comprehend the facts rather than the hype and then attempt to reach a just conclusion based on moral principles—that is, whether or not he is a good man. Would we and the supporters be at ease with him playing genuinely for Manchester United or not?”
Greenwood and Man United have a contract that expires in the summer of 2025. He has already been connected to a long-term relocation to Spain, where Barcelona has surfaced as a possible landing spot.
Greenwood has made 22 appearances with Getafe, tallying five goals and the same number of assists. When Getafe plays Las Palmas this weekend, he hopes to break that record.
