Beginning with the 2024–2025 season, REUTER will serve as Borussia Mönchengladbach’s primary commercial partner. Gladbach and the biggest online bathroom store in Germany have reached an agreement that will last at least until 2026, with an additional year at the option.
“We are extremely happy with the favorable result of our talks,” says Stephan Schippers, CEO of Gladbach. “We have already collaborated extensively with REUTER for several years; they are a Mönchengladbach icon, just like Borussia.” Our early collaboration agreement allows for the best possible planning time for both sides. Throughout the process, we had numerous discussions with possible partners and ultimately selected the interested party who, in our opinion, best matches with Borussia.
Gladbach and REUTER have been working together since 2011, and since 2015, the company has been one of the Foals’ main partners. According to REUTER’s founder and CEO, Bernd Reuter, “Our partnership is full of trust and built on the reliability of the people involved and mutual appreciation.” Since our company is established in Mönchengladbach and has its headquarters located less than five kilometers from BORUSSIA-PARK, we have a strong sense of community with both the city and the team. Theresa Seibel, chief marketing officer at REUTER, continues, “As their new main partner, we see an ideal opportunity to increase our brand visibility and awareness among Gladbach fans and beyond.”
As the eleventh primary partner in Borussia Mönchengladbach’s history, REUTER will take over from Flatex as the team’s primary sponsor. Borussia’s head of sponsorships, Guido Uhle, states, “We think in terms of long-lasting partnerships.” We are happy to be extending our fruitful 13-year partnership with REUTER. We wish to work together to take our two Mönchengladbach success stories global. “At this juncture, we would also like to express our gratitude to flatexDEGIRO AG, who has served as our primary partner since 2020 and will continue to serve as a co-sponsor indefinitely,” he said.
Recognizing the shift in the bathroom product market, REUTER was among the first businesses to enter the Internet sales arena in 2004. It was an enormous success and sparked rapid expansion for the business, which today has hundreds of thousands of products accessible for prompt delivery, a large selection of premium brands, a high degree of experience, and affordable online rates. The 40,000-square-foot administrative and logistical core of the company is located outside of Mönchengladbach. REUTER currently supplies goods to 27 countries and employs about 850 people in Mönchengladbach, Düsseldorf, and Dortmund. REUTER has expanded internationally, opening more facilities in Paris (opening in 2020), Bern (2021), Warsaw (2022), Milan, and Borgomanero (2024).
The company, a pioneer in the sector, continuously invests in its future by using its financial independence. Bernd Reuter says, “It’s a unique milestone for us to become Borussia’s main partner exactly 20 years after the founding of REUTER’s online shop.” “We are eager to begin a new, exciting chapter in our close collaboration with the Foals.”
