In response to Judy Murray, the mother of Andy Murray, Rennae Stubbs, the former coach of Serena Williams, recently expressed her displeasure that her son was being asked to retire despite a decline in his form.
It’s been a difficult start to Murray’s 2024 season. Brisbane International, Australian Open, Montpellier, Rotterdam, Qatar Open, and, most recently, the Dubai Tennis Championships were among the tournaments where he was eliminated early.
Since the 36-year-old British player has been playing with a metal hip for several years, there has been more conjecture regarding his retirement because he is not at his best. Following his elimination from the Dubai second round, when he lost 2-6, 4-6 against Ugo Humbert, similar queries surfaced once more at a news conference.
In response, Andy Murray suggested that after this summer, he might give up golf.
Murray told the press, “I mean, I’m probably not going to play past this summer,” as reported by The Express. “I’m questioned about it following every game I play in a tournament. To be honest, I’m tired of the question.”
Judy Murray, the man’s mother and a former career coach, publicly expressed her annoyance at her son’s constant questioning on the same subject. She begged the press to keep his privacy in mind so he could enjoy the last few months of the tour.
“The identical question is posed to him at every press appearance. He was asked, “Ah, but when are you going to win Wimbledon?” when he first joined @atptour. On X (previously Twitter), Judy posted, “Every single time.”Let him savor the remaining years of his profession. “He’s fifty years old, has four children, a bipartite patella, and a metal hip,” she continued.
On the same social networking site, Rennae Stubbs has now responded to Judy Murray’s comments, writing:
“Amen!”
