Jurgen Klopp has dispelled rumours regarding Darwin Nunez’s career at Liverpool.
After last weekend’s victory over Tottenham, when the late substitute wasted a golden opportunity to score, doubts about Darwin Nunez’s long-term future were stoked.
By quickly eliminating almost all references to his time at the club from his Instagram page, the Uruguayan international intensified rumours of a possible departure.
Nunez’s time with the Reds, however, is not going away, according to Klopp, who thinks the striker is only going through a bad patch right now.
There isn’t any conjecture [about his future], he declared. I’m not aware of it, so there must be outside conjecture.
“I have since stopped being active in it, but at this point, there is no speculation—that’s just the state of affairs.
“Darwin was undoubtedly upset about losing that opportunity [against the Spurs].” He was unfortunate in a lot of instances where he was doing everything correctly but the ball would still not go in.
It’s quite difficult for a young man. He has high expectations for himself and is aware of them.
He must experience it. A football player’s career includes it. That’s it.
“He is so good that he is in these situations all the time, which is his difficulty. People would claim he isn’t that wonderful if he were a little bit less talented and couldn’t have opportunities.
To what extent did he score goals? Not bad for eighteen [overall] and eleven [in the league].
“It’s just that he has a quality that puts him in situations where people think, ‘Again, again.'”
And because of our collective circumstances, people wouldn’t have been as upset if someone else had scored at that very moment.
It’s a necessary aspect of a profession, but nobody enjoys it. That concludes it.
