A three-word statement has been sent out by Erling Haaland as Manchester City approaches the Premier League championship.
Tuesday night, City defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 thanks to a brace from Haaland in the second half. With one game remaining, the win put City two points ahead of Arsenal at the top of the standings.
The last Premier League game of the season between City and West Ham will take place at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. The season finale between Arsenal and Everton will take place at the Emirates Stadium, around 200 miles away.
Haaland shared a message on social media ahead of the weekend. The Norway international sent a message to his teammates at City and Arsenal that consisted of only three words.
Haaland posted the message “Job’s not finished” on Instagram on Wednesday, adding a fist emoji. As of writing, Haaland’s post had received over 280,000 likes.
Any outcome that City achieves against West Ham on Sunday would guarantee the title, even if Arsenal loses to Everton. Due to their better goal differential, City would have to pray that the Gunners lose to the Toffees if they drew with the Hammers.
Should City draw and Arsenal win, the title would return to North London. Therefore, when they play West Ham this weekend, Haaland and company won’t be taking any chances and will be going for the three points.
With 38 goals in 43 games for City thus far this season, Haaland has been a key contributor to the team’s progress towards a double this year.
In addition to the Premier League championship, City hopes to win the FA Cup twice in a row. This month, Pep Guardiola’s team will play Manchester United at Wembley Stadium.
