When it comes to Kevin De Bruyne’s availability for Manchester City’s trip to Bournemouth this weekend, the team is worried.
On Saturday night, Cherries will host the current Premier League winners at Vitality Stadium for an evening kickoff that will be televised by Sky Sports at 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday night, City defeated Brentford 1-0, although the Belgian midfielder was not included in the game. Manager Pep Guardiola explained that he had chosen to be risk-averse with De Bruyne.
De Bruyne was an unutilized substitute against Brentford, having just recently recovered from a hamstring injury.
“He has niggles in his hamstring area and I didn’t want to take any risks with him,” Guardiola said following the match.
He’s fine, he’s fine, the main focus was on prevention.
“He said the doctors told him not to take a risk and he didn’t feel comfortable.”
One England international who appears certain to be left out of the City midfield is Jack Grealish.
The former Aston Villa player was knocked out last week in the Champions League match against Copenhagen.
Guardiola went on, “It’s not that much, not that worse than we expect.”
It could be ten days, three weeks, or even a month. It’s excellent news, in my opinion, because it’s less.”
