Anton Ferdinand thinks Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling may be somewhat underappreciated after watching him last night against Luton Town.
In the 3-0 victory over Luton on Friday night, Raheem Sterling made headlines by scoring two outstanding goals at Stamford Bridge.
His first goal came after a mesmerizing dribble into the box and a calm finish with his weaker left foot. Then, during the second half, he found space in the penalty area and finished with a right foot.
Overall, the attacker who cost £50 million (Daily Mail) was as sharp as he has been since joining the Blues from Manchester City last summer.
After Sterling’s Premier League masterclass against Luton, which also featured an assist in addition to his two goals, Ferdinand was extremely appreciative of him on social media.
On X, he asserted that the Chelsea winger is not treated with “the respect he deserves.”
We may all admit that most people could have been a little guilty of ignoring Sterling’s actual personal qualities.
To be honest, the English speedster allowed his standards to slip last year when playing for Chelsea. However, it was undoubtedly not a conducive environment for any Blues star to succeed.
Owen Hargreaves was super impressed by Sterling against Luton and thinks he looked “so sharp”, as quoted by the Premier League’s official website.
It definitely looks like there’s an extra spring in his step in the opening weeks of the season and a hard summer is paying off in a big way.
