Ibrahima Konate, a center-back for Liverpool, is no longer expected to play in tomorrow’s game against Newcastle United, according to Craig Hope of The Mail.
The enormous Frenchman was a “doubt” yesterday, according to Jurgen Klopp, but it has since been reported that he will NOT be ready for the 4.30 pm start at St James’ Park.
As a result, either Joe Gomez or Joel Matip will enter for the Reds, giving Newcastle an early advantage in the match. Gomez struggled during our most recent encounter with the Reds, and Matip’s most recent start was in a 4-4 tie against Southampton in May.
Jacob Murphy is poised to join the team after missing out at Man City, and Joelinton has been cleared to play for Newcastle.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, who hobbled off last weekend, is fine for the visitors, and Alexis MacAllister is eligible after having his red card from their 3-1 victory over Bournemouth overturned.
❌ Hearing Ibrahima Konate will NOT be fit for Liverpool at Newcastle tomorrow, which means Joe Gomez or Joel Matip coming in. That feels like a big loss for LFC & big boost for NUFC.
