Former Manchester City player and pundit Michael Brown expressed his admiration for Rico Lewis’ first-team efforts.
The 18-year-old created a name for himself in the senior City club last year, and he even scored his first goal for the first team in their 3-1 Champions League victory over Sevilla at the Etihad Stadium.
However, one pundit has expressed his opinions on the young player and his ascension to the City team now that the Citizens have learned their group for the forthcoming European tournament, which they ultimately ended up winning for the first time last season.
Brown commends Lewis.
In a recent live stream on the team’s official YouTube channel, Brown had this to say about Lewis and his work with the senior team in advance of Thursday’s Champions League group draw.

I really can’t believe how composed and refined he’s been since joining the squad, the man exclaimed. He’s been a credit, hasn’t he, being so mature in important games and continuing in different positions? not just for what he did, but also for how he handled it.
The right-back started 16 of his 23 senior outings for the Manchester club last year across all competitions.
The young player eventually played in a range of different defensive and midfield positions, as Brown stated, demonstrating his versatility and intelligence.
In fact, Guardiola called Lewis a “intelligent” and “reliable” player after witnessing him play in City’s 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich during their preseason tour of Asia.
With all of that in mind, it comes as no surprise that the defender accepted the club’s last month’s offer of a substantial long-term contract, keeping him at the Etihad until 2028.
It will be interesting to see how the young player develops under Guardiola and what this season has in store for him.
