Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has regularly expressed his appreciation for Jadon Sancho but has also explained numerous times why the Reds decided against making a move to recruit the winger.
After responding to Ten Hag on social media, Sancho was benched for United’s match against Brighton on Saturday and forced to practise by himself. Winger Sancho used social media to dispute Ten Hag’s assertion that he was left off the team for United’s 3-1 loss against Arsenal due to subpar workout efforts.
In light of the current impasse between Sancho and management, questions are being raised about his future. Since the winger’s tenure at Old Trafford hasn’t gone according to plan since his move from Borussia Dortmund two years ago, United is probably open to hearing bids for him.
Sancho’s future is once again in the limelight, and although United would examine offers, a transfer to bitter rivals Liverpool is not likely to be on the table. Under Klopp, the attacker is unlikely to play at all, but the manager has never shied away from acknowledging his abilities.
For the first time in 2019, Klopp discussed Sancho, but he said that the premium on recruiting English players had prevented any thoughts of a deal. We would never have a chance to get Sancho, so buying English players is a good move, according to Klopp.
“We are not deaf; we noticed him, liked him, and then wondered, ‘Can we get him?'” No. due to the fact that English clubs don’t sell to other English clubs. I’m not entirely sure why they don’t do it, but they don’t. They may now travel to Germany, which has a fantastic league.
One year later, Klopp told the German tabloid Bild in an interview that Sancho would be a fantastic addition to Liverpool, but he did not anticipate a deal: “The red shirt (of Liverpool) would suit extremely well. This season, I don’t believe such a transfer will be feasible. Sancho is a really fascinating player. I, however, would be the most shocked if he were to visit Liverpool.
In 2021, after Sancho had become a star at Dortmund and established himself as a prospective England international ahead of the European Championships, Klopp was discussing the potential of signing the winger once more.
However, Klopp once more downplayed the likelihood of a settlement while emphasising the financial effects of the Covid epidemic. It happened a year after United dropped out of a potential deal after receiving a quotation of £100 million for the player, ultimately settling on a £73 million transfer.
“I hear a lot about big-money moves, I don’t know if Kylian Mbappe is going or not, whether (Erling) Haaland or Sancho will, these kinds of players,” Klopp remarked in the final month of the 2020–21 season. Because the football world is still not in the same place as it was previously, I do not anticipate that happening this summer.
After a few months had passed, Klopp defended the winger, who had struggled in his first few months at Old Trafford, before playing Sancho and United in October 2021. Jadon Sancho is a top-tier athlete. Absolutely,” the Reds manager affirmed prior to the matchup with Sancho.
He possesses all the qualities necessary to one day rank among the finest players in the world. He is still very little, but that is how things are. Evidently, they were gushing about him at Dortmund. Correctly so.
I watched a lot of games where he played exceptionally well, said Klopp. Particularly where you are, it is a typical circumstance. I’m not, but you are; you get impatient quite easily. Remember the possibilities United have for him.
Jadon can certainly play different positions, but there is no longer room for him.To be completely honest, that is a problem you want to have as a manager. Jadon’s situation will be fine, hopefully not on Sunday.
