According to yesterday’s reports, Bobb will be a member of Stale Solbakken’s upcoming international team.
In upcoming Euro 2024 qualifying matches, Norway will face both Cyprus and Spain.
Solbakken’s team is now third in Group A, trailing only Spain and Scotland. They are currently only one point behind Spain, so two victories would be really helpful.
Additionally, there is a chance that Bobb will play in his first international match for the upcoming matches.
The young man was called up by Solbakken after making an impression for City in recent weeks.
When questioned about Bobb’s call-up today, Pep responded in a true Pep way.
Oscar Bobb, a Manchester City player, is called up by Norway. Pep Guardiola responds.
Pep was questioned about Bobb by Norwegian station TV2 Sport following his press conference ahead of the Champions League match with RB Leipzig.
Pep is overjoyed for Bobb and quipped, “My reaction? You need to bring a bottle of wine to your manager, not Solbakken, I told him. I enabled you to attend! Without making fun, I’m happy for him. The next step is for Solbakken to acknowledge his abilities as a player and as a person.
He will play alongside Erling, Odegaard, and all of Norway’s star players, which is fantastic for him. I’m incredibly happy for him.
Perhaps it seemed inevitable that Bobb would receive a senior call-up for Norway.
The young man has thus far represented his nation at every youth level.
Fantastic news for Bobb
The fact that Bobb has been selected for the senior Norway team is fantastic.
I’m hoping he can play against Cyprus and Spain.
The young player has made five appearances for City so far this season, and clearly Solbakken has been impressed.
And he has unquestionably impressed.
Bobb just appears to be a classic City player—technical, assured, skilled, and adaptable. Hopefully he can continue to dazzle Pep.
