Erling Haaland is unlikely to be ready for Saturday’s match against Crystal Palace, according to Pep Guardiola.
The striker for Manchester City is in a battle against time to be fit for Tuesday’s FIFA Club World Cup semifinal in Saudi Arabia. He has been dealing with a foot issue, missing the last two games across all competitions.
Guardiola stated, “He arrived today, and the doctors will see him and we will see how he feels,” at the press conference on Friday.
“He was sent away for treatment. I hope he can get to Saudi after the game tomorrow.
“I believe he will accompany us on our journey, and then we’ll see if he can play the first or second game when we get back.”
Guardiola stated, “I don’t think so,” in response to a question about Haaland’s ability to play Palace this weekend. However, I don’t think there will be a surprise or that they will tell me something new.
FPL managers need to react
Fantasy Premier League managers will have to act fast since Haland’s probable absence versus Palace means they must weigh their alternatives before Friday’s 18:30 GMT deadline.
With selections in 75% of squads, the Norwegian is the most owned player in the game, but his injury has caused that percentage to decline throughout the course of the week.
With 880,000+ managers selling him before Gameweek 17, he is, in fact, the most-sold player.
