Deontay Wilder has declared that he and Anthony Joshua have reached an agreement to fight at the heavyweight class.
If Wilder and Joshua are to finally lock horns in the ring this weekend in Saudi Arabia, they will need to defeat Otto Wallin and Joseph Parker, respectively. Since they shared four world titles, the rivals have been headed for confrontation, and now they might square off to see who Tyson Fury’s next opponent will be.
According to reports, the bout is scheduled for March 9 in Saudi Arabia, which is only three weeks after Fury and Oleksandr Usyk square off in the Middle East. Furthermore, Wilder has declared that he is prepared to sign a contract to face Joshua.
He said, “I’m ready, willing, and able to do whatever the Saudis have planned,” to Instant Casino. “I appreciate the structure and what I’ve been hearing. Working with them has been refreshing because they are organized and have the time, dates, and locations down pat. They have also predetermined your payment amount, which is a wonderful perk for a fighter like myself. We never get time, location, or people back, and this is the amount of money you will get.
“At this point, I don’t see anything stopping me and AJ from fighting. I am not aware of all the plans that are in the works, but from what I have observed so far, nothing appears to be blocking it at this time. The only thing that might prevent that is if we both lose on December 23. I see no other way to halt it than that.
I don’t think that issue is present right now, other from the fact that his manager and promoter were the only ones who prevented it from happening previously. The last time I spoke with everyone, everyone was on board and in accord. It will be exciting to see Wilder vs. Joshua in 2024 if and when we both prevail on December 23.”
However, Wilder also cautioned Joshua that he won’t have Wallin all to himself on Saturday. He continued, “Otto Wallin has a great opportunity to upset the fight.” “No matter how hard I hit or what I have, everyone has a chance. It just depends on the dog and how hungry he is that night. Parker, in particular, has a great deal of a chance.” He and I both have equal chances. Considering that I still need to do and apply my preparation and training.”
